 The honest starting point

The plan depends onhow long is left.

A crash course six weeks out and a crash course six days out are different products. Selling the same thing to both is how students end up revising content they will never be asked about. Find the window you are in.

 10–12 wkFull cycle

 Cover it, then test it.

Enough time for a complete pass through the weaker half of the syllabus, followed by real timed practice. The most comfortable window, and the one where target grades move most reliably.

 Full topic sweep, weakest first.

Two or three complete past papers under timing.

Time to fix a habit, not just notice it.

 Plan a 12-week course ↗

 4–6 wkTargeted recovery

 Fix what is costing most.

The most common window, and the one a crash course is really built for. We triage a recent paper, rank the topics by marks lost, and work down that list until the exam.

Start from a marked mock, not a syllabus list.

 Highest-value topics first, explicitly ranked.

Timed sections rather than whole papers.

 Plan a 6-week course ↗

 1–2 wkFinal fortnight

 Technique, not new content.

With days left, learning new topics is a poor use of the time. The gains are in command words, working shown, question order and not losing marks you have already earned.

Answer the question that was actually asked.

Rehearse the order you attempt questions in.

Secure the marks you keep dropping carelessly.

 Plan a final push ↗

Retaking in a later series? That is a different and often better position to be in — you have a real result to work backwards from. Choose “Retaking a later series” in the form.

 Where the marks actually go

Not every lost markhas the same cause.

This is the part most revision skips. A mark lost because you never learned the topic and a mark lost because you misread the command word look identical on a script, and they need completely different fixes. Sorting them takes about twenty minutes and changes what the whole course should be.

1Triage a real paperGo through a recent mock question by question and label every lost mark by cause, before deciding anything about the plan.

2Rank by marks, not by fearStudents revise what makes them anxious. We revise what is costing the most marks. Those are usually different lists.

3Re-test the same weaknessCome back to the same type of question a week later. If it has stuck, move on. If not, it was never fixed.

 The triage methodDo this yourself

Four reasons a mark goes missing.

DIDN'T KNOWThe content was never learned. This is the only category that needs teaching.

MISREADYou knew it, but answered a different question. Fixed by technique, not revision.

RAN OUTYou knew it and never reached it. That is a pacing problem, and it is trainable.

TOO VAGUEYou said roughly the right thing without the words that earn the mark.

Count the marks in each category. Whichever is largest is where the crash course should start.

How many marks is one grade, really?

Closer than most students assume. In a published Cambridge Chemistry session, an A* sat around 153–163 out of 200 and an A around 127–137 — roughly 26 marks between adjacent grades, across the whole qualification.

Spread over three papers, that is about eight or nine marks per paper. Two structured questions. Boundaries are set fresh every session and vary by subject and variant, so treat this as a sense of scale rather than a target — but the scale is the point.

The triage categories are our own teaching framework, not official Cambridge guidance. Grade boundaries are published by Cambridge after each session and change every year.

 Working backwards from the date

 Three series.Three different clocks.

Cambridge examines IGCSE subjects in June and November, and also runs a March series in India. Which one you are entered for decides when a crash course should start and which syllabus version your papers follow.

Check your syllabus version, not just the subject. Several IGCSE syllabuses have been revised recently, and a past paper from an older version can test content that is no longer examinable. We match practice papers to the syllabus for your exam year.

When to start, by exam series. Confirm exact dates on the Cambridge exam timetable for your centre.

NovemberRetakes and mid-year entriesCommon for improving a June grade. Results follow in January.Full cycle from around August; targeted recovery from September.

Timings above are guidance, not Cambridge policy. Check the Cambridge examination timetables and confirm your entry with your school or exam centre. Noble Educators is an independent tutoring provider, not affiliated with or endorsed by Cambridge International.

 What sessions cost,before you enquire.

Sessions are €5 to €15 (£4 to £13) for 60 minutes, set by the student’s grade. An IGCSE crash course is €12 / £10 a session. Booking a monthly plan reduces that by 5 to 15 per cent. No joining fee, and the introductory 30-minute demo is free.

Rates are per 60-minute one-to-one session. Sessions are booked as a monthly block and used within that month; unused sessions can be carried over once with reasonable notice. The discount is set by the number of sessions booked in the month, so it is confirmed at the point of booking and applies for that month. Before you choose

 One-to-one is notthe only option.

It is also not always the right one. Group classes and recorded courses cost less per hour and suit some students well. Here is an honest comparison of what each format actually gives you, so you can decide rather than be sold to.

A comparison of tutoring formats, not of named providers. Rates for other formats vary widely, so check them directly with the provider you are considering.

If you are comparing us against a specific provider, ask them three questions: how many students share the tutor, whether lessons follow your exact syllabus code and paper route, and whether written work is marked individually. Those three answers explain most of the price difference between formats.

 A clear next step

From the first conversationto a working plan.

A crash course lives or dies on the first week. These four steps are how we avoid burning it on setup.

01 / SHARESend a marked paper.A recent mock with the marks on it is worth more than any description of the problem. Bring it to the demo if you have one.

02 / TRIAGESort the lost marks.Label every dropped mark by cause. The largest category decides what the course spends its time on.

03 / PLANRank and schedule.Agree the topic order, the number of sessions a week and the fee before anything starts. You get the plan in writing.

04 / RE-TESTCheck it actually stuck.Return to each fixed weakness once, later. Anything that fails the re-test goes back on the list.

What does a crash course cost?Sessions run €5 to €15 (£4 to £13) depending on grade — €12 / £10 at IGCSE level. Monthly plans of 8, 12, 15 or 20 sessions take 5% to 15% off that, and crash courses usually sit at the 15- or 20-session end. The 30-minute demo is free.

Crash courses run in the evenings and at weekends more often than anything else we teach, because they sit on top of a normal school timetable. Tell us where the student is and when they are actually free.

Work can be shared before a session, so the tutor arrives having already marked it. Close to an exam that is the difference between a session spent diagnosing and a session spent fixing.

What is an IGCSE crash course?A short, intensive block of one-to-one revision in the run-up to an exam series. Rather than re-teaching a subject from the beginning, it starts by working out where marks are actually being lost, then spends the remaining time on the topics and techniques that will recover the most marks.

Can a crash course make up for a whole year of missed work?Honestly, no. Six weeks cannot replace a year, and anyone promising that is selling something. What a crash course can realistically do is convert knowledge you already half-have into marks, fix technique errors that cost marks on every paper, and stop you spending your last weeks revising the wrong things.

How many weeks before the exam should a crash course start?Ten to twelve weeks is comfortable and allows a full pass through the syllabus plus timed practice. Four to six weeks is the most common starting point and works well when the goal is targeted recovery. Under two weeks, the sensible aim is exam technique and the highest-value topics, not new content.

Which subjects can I take a crash course in?The most requested are Mathematics 0580 and Additional Mathematics 0606, Chemistry 0620, Computer Science 0478, and First Language English 0500 with Literature in English 0475. Other IGCSE subjects depend on tutor availability, so ask when you enquire and we will confirm before you book.

Do you use past papers and mark schemes?Yes, and the mark scheme matters more than the paper. Working through a question is only half of it; the marks come from seeing what the examiner actually credits and where your wording fell short. We use papers matched to your syllabus version and exam year, since older papers can test content that has since changed.

Can I book a crash course for a November retake?Yes. Retakes are one of the clearest cases for a crash course, because you already have a real result to work backwards from. A statement of results shows which components pulled the grade down, so the plan can start from evidence rather than guesswork.

Is the March series in India covered?Yes. Cambridge runs exams in June and November, and also in a March series in India. Tell us which series you are entered for, because it changes when the crash course needs to start and which syllabus version your papers will follow.

How many sessions a week does a crash course need? Most students take two to five sessions a week, depending on how long is left and how many subjects are involved. Fewer than two a week rarely builds momentum close to an exam. More than five tends to crowd out the independent practice that actually consolidates the work.

How much does an IGCSE crash course cost?Sessions are €5 to €15 for 60 minutes, or £4 to £13, set by the student’s grade. IGCSE level is €12 / £10 a session. A monthly plan reduces that: 5% off at 8 sessions, 8% at 12, 12% at 15 and 15% at 20, so an intensive 20-session month works out at €10.20 / £8.50 each. The 30-minute demo is free.

Are crash course sessions one-to-one?Yes. Sessions are for one student and one tutor, not a revision group. Close to an exam this matters more than usual, because the whole value of a crash course is spending time on your specific weak points rather than a syllabus tour that suits the average of a class.

Can you guarantee my grade will improve? No, and you should be wary of anyone who does. Grades depend on the paper, the boundaries set that session and the work the student puts in between sessions. What we can commit to is an honest assessment at the demo of what is achievable in the time available.

What happens after I submit the form? The form prepares your enquiry and opens WhatsApp addressed to Noble Educators at +91 9229648496. You review the message and press Send. Our team then discusses tutor options and confirms a demo time. Your request is not sent until you press Send, and your demo is confirmed separately by our team.
