# AP & Honors Tutoring, One-to-One and Mapped to Your School

AP and Honors courses move fast, and the exam rewards a very specific kind of answer. We work the course units alongside your student's class, then drill the response formats examiners actually score — free-response structure, justification language, and the calculator or lab work that carries marks. Every session is recorded, so revision before the May exams does not mean starting from scratch.

Where students get stuck

## The problems parents describe on the first call

- The course moves faster than class review
- Function models are difficult to interpret
- Written explanations feel incomplete
- Derivative applications are unclear
- Integrals feel like disconnected rules
- Free response takes too long

What changes

## What we work toward in AP & Honors

- Practice AP-style questions with feedback
- Explain function behavior precisely
- Strengthen skills for AP assessments and Calculus
- Understand why a rule applies
- Connect graphs, tables, and equations
- Prepare with timed AP-style practice

## How AP & Honors sessions work

01

### Free diagnostic lesson

A 45-minute session that finds which standards are secure and which are not, before anyone pays anything.

02

### A tutor matched to the course

We match on curriculum experience, not just subject, so the tutor already knows the sequence your school follows.

03

### Weekly sessions and a written report

Every lesson is recorded and chaptered, and you get a progress summary you can take to parent conferences.

- Free 45-minute diagnostic
- Every lesson recorded
- No card required to start

## The AP exam rewards a specific kind of answer

Knowing the content is necessary but rarely sufficient. Free-response questions award points against a published rubric, and students routinely lose marks for correct thinking that was never written down: no units, no justification, a graph left unlabelled, a conclusion stated without linking back to the evidence. Sessions rehearse the answer format alongside the content, so the work on the page collects the points the student has actually earned.

## Keeping pace with a course that does not slow down

AP courses cover a year of college material in a school year, and a week of illness can leave a gap that never gets filled. Because sessions are one-to-one and weekly, the tutor can run two tracks at once: keep up with whatever the class is doing now, and quietly repair the unit that got missed. Recordings matter here more than in any other course, since May revision covers material first taught in September.

## Choosing between AB and BC, or honors and AP

Families often ask which course to take rather than how to pass one. AB and BC share most of the differential and integral calculus; BC adds series, parametric and polar work and moves faster. Honors courses are a reasonable step before AP if the foundation is uneven. The free diagnostic is a low-risk way to answer that question with evidence instead of guessing, and it does not commit you to anything.

## Questions parents ask

Do you follow my child's school for AP & Honors?

+

Yes. We start from the pacing guide and textbook your school actually uses, then plan around the AP & Honors topics your student has not secured yet. Nothing is taught out of sequence with their class.

Are lessons live or recorded?

+

Every lesson is live and one-to-one. Sessions are also recorded and chaptered so your student can revisit any explanation before a test.

How are tutors vetted?

+

Subject testing, a teaching demo, reference checks and background screening. Tutors are matched by curriculum experience, not just subject.

What does the free demo include?

+

A full 45-minute lesson, a written skills snapshot, and a proposed term plan. No payment details are required to book it.
