## What students learn

01

### The 2027 AP CSP exam and Create task

The end-of-course exam is fully digital, in the Bluebook app: 70 multiple-choice questions in 2 hours, worth 70%. The Create performance task and its written responses make up the other 30%. Students build a program in 9 hours of class time, submit the code, a video of it running and a Personalized Project Reference through the AP Digital Portfolio, then answer two written-response questions about it in a 60-minute part of the exam.

02

### The five big ideas

Creative Development; Data; Algorithms and Programming; Computer Systems and Networks; and Impact of Computing.

## Questions about this course

Can you help with the Create performance task?

Yes. We help your child plan the program, test and debug it, and prepare for the written responses about it. The program and the writing stay your child's own, as College Board rules require.

Which programming language does AP CSP use?

College Board does not set one: teachers choose the language. The tutor works in the language your child's class uses.

Is AP Computer Science Principles changing?

College Board plans a redesigned course for the 2027–28 school year. The May 2027 exam still follows the current course, and we follow the framework for your child's exam year.
