    01

    Your course, clearly identified

Mathematics 10C (Math 10C) is listed in Alberta’s course catalogue at Grade 10. Ask your school for the current course outline and assessment expectations, then share them with your tutor.

    02

    Math 10C: topics to discuss

Algebra, linear relationships, measurement, powers and introductory trigonometry. Establish algebraic accuracy and connect a rate of change to a graph. Separate the known measurements from the unknown, then select a method and check units. Confirm the current topic sequence and full coverage using your school’s outline and the official source below.

    03

    Building confidence in math

An equation states that two quantities are equal. Apply the same operation to both sides. On a graph, the solution to a system is the point that satisfies both equations. Lessons can alternate a modelled example, a question attempted together and an independent attempt so the tutor can see where understanding changes.

    04

Use school feedback to guide revision

Bring a recent question, marked solution or topic checklist. Explain where you got stuck. The next practice task should check that particular skill before introducing more complexity. Tutoring supports learning; assessed submissions remain the student’s own work.

Understand it. Try it. Review it.

Put your math learning into practice.

Worked example · Linear equations and graphs

    Solve 3x + 7 = 22.

    1. Subtract 7 from both sides: 3x = 15.
    2. Divide both sides by 3: x = 5.
    3. Check: 3(5) + 7 = 22.
    Common mistakes to check
    • Changing only one side of an equation
    • Confusing the y-intercept with the gradient
