EOG tests cover reading and math in grades 3 to 8, plus science in grades 5 and 8. They are taken online, with paper only for students with a documented accessibility need. The EOG is multistage adaptive and is the end-of-year part of the state's NCPAT system. Level 5 (Comprehensive) and Level 4 (Thorough) count as College-and-Career Ready, Level 3 (Sufficient) is Grade-Level Proficient, and lower results are Not Proficient.
End-of-Course tests are given in NC Math 1, English II, Biology and NC Math 3, also online. The EOC result counts for at least 20% of the student's final grade in that course, so the score matters for the transcript as well as for the school's results.
